Overview

The waiting room feature allows the host or co-host to control who can enter the meeting room and when. Hosts can review and admit attendees one by one (throughout the duration of the meeting) and/or hold all attendees in the waiting room and admit them all at once.

Enable the Waiting Room feature

  1. Sign into the Zoom web portal and click ‘Meeting Settings’.
  2. On the Meeting tab, navigate to the Waiting Room option under In-Meeting (Advanced) and verify that the setting is enabled.
When enabling the waiting room, you also have the option to selecting ‘Guest participants only’ which allows signed-in users that belong to @isoc.org to be automatically admitted. Users without an @isoc.org account and users who have not signed in will be sent to the waiting room for approval.

Admit Invitees from Waiting Room to Meeting:

  1. In the meeting room, click on ‘Manage Participants’
  2. You can ‘Admit’ participants one by one, ‘Admit All’ or ‘Remove’ them from the waiting list.

Scheduling Meetings without Waiting Room Enabled

For larger meetings with our community or stakeholders, admitting attendees throughout a meeting could be a cumbersome task. When scheduling these larger meetings, we could disable the Waiting Room.
