1. On the top right, click 'Share' > 'Get Link'

  2. Choose your Preferred Access Type (see below) and select 'Can View'

Note: Those who are shared on the folder in which the box note was created will still have editing access even if you provide them with the 'view only' link (People with the Link - Can View' or 'People in your company - Can View').

  • e.g. Lincoln is shared in on the 02 - IT folder. Within that folder, Gregg creates a box note. Gregg generates a 'People in your company - Can view' link and sends it to all staff. When staff follow the link to the box note, it will be read-only. When Lincoln clicks on the link to the box note, he will be able to read and edit it.


Tip: If you want your note to be read-only for all, create the note in your 'My Box Notes' folder. This happens by default when you are on the main overview page of all your files and folders and you click 'Write a quick note'.


    3. Copy the Shared Link and send it to your recipients. They will have the following Read-Only view:
