Licenses
Q: Do all staff have a Large Meeting or Webinar License?
A: No. These licenses are add-ons to your zoom license and are assigned upon request. If you would like to obtain a Large Meeting or Webinar license, contact ITHelp@isoc.org. To learn more about these meeting types, please refer to the article 'Webinar vs Zoom Meeting'.
Q: When do I request a Large Meeting or Webinar License?
A: As soon as you know the date of your event(s), send a request for the license. We have a limited number of licenses, so let us know as soon as possible in order to allocate one.
Chat
Q: Are private chats in open zoom calls saved in the “meeting saved chat”?
A: Private chats to/from the person recording the meeting are saved in the chat transcript. However private chats to/from other participants are not saved in the chat.
Q: Are chats in breakout rooms incorporated into the final chat transcript?
A: Some report that the breakout room chats are included in final chat transcripts. We will test this and give an update as soon as possible.
Polls
Q: If you are a co-host, is it safe to close the poll without affecting the poll?
A: Yes, given that the poll window appears for the host(s) and co-host(s), the person who is not managing the poll can close the poll window without ending the poll.
Breakout Rooms
Q: Is it possible to have more that one host? If so, is it possible to have 2 people managing different breakout rooms?
In Zoom meetings, you can technically have one host. Only the host can create, initiate, and modify settings related to the breakout rooms. The host is also the only one who can freely join different break out rooms throughout the session.
