When you open up your new ISOC or ISOC-F issued laptop, here's what to expect:
After you enter your network credentials, the device will automatically connect with ISOC's Servers. You'll see this screen at the end of Setup Assistant:
Click Continue.
Once this process is complete, you will be taken to the Account Creation page. Create an account.
Next, choose your location. From there, you will be taken to your desktop. After a very short moment, this dialogue will appear:
Once you click OK, the screen will go dark and you will see this:
The device will now install Sophos, Zoom, Slack, and our VPN client on its own. This process can take anywhere between 5-15 minutes depending on your connection. Once this process is complete, the device will automatically restart.
At the next login after the system restarts, you will be prompted to enable FileVault as soon as you enter your account password. Select "Enable Now" to proceed.
FileVault is the Mac's built-in disk encryption and is required to be enabled on all ISOC and ISOC-F issued devices. The encryption process takes only a short amount of time. Note: You will only have to enable FileVault once.
After FileVault is enabled, you will be taken to your desktop and are ready to get started with your new issued laptop!
Note: At the time of this writing, you will need to download any browsers, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. A member of Global IT will provide a link for the Microsoft Office Suite.
